Gemini Flow: Two Sides
Download PDF (59 KB)All guides
A BLKMAT flow for the Gemini Constellation mat. About 10 minutes. Read the safety note first.
Gemini · May 21 – Jun 20 · traditional element: air · modality: mutable (traditionally, a sign that ends a season)
Your mat: Castor and Pollux head the twin figures, drawn in gold over a faint Milky Way.
Gemini, the twins, is an air sign associated with curiosity and variety. This flow plays with pairs: left and right, up and down, effort and rest. Notice how your two sides differ.
The zodiac is a theme here, not a prescription: any sign can do any flow, and nothing about your birth date changes what your body needs today.
| # | Pose | Time | How |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Equal breathing | 1 min | Seated. Breathe in for a count of 4, out for a count of 4. |
| 2 | Cat and cow | 1 min | Two shapes, one breath each. |
| 3 | Thread the needle | 1½ min | From hands and knees, slide your right arm under your left and rest the shoulder down. 4 breaths, then switch. |
| 4 | Side lunge, alternating | 1½ min | Wide stance. Bend the right knee and shift right, then shift through center to the left. 6 slow passes. Hands on hips or the floor. |
| 5 | Tree pose | 2 min | 5 breaths each side. Which side balances more easily today? |
| 6 | Seated side bend | 1 min | Cross-legged. Reach your right arm over toward the left for 3 breaths; switch. |
| 7 | Savasana | 2 min | Notice both sides of the body resting equally. |
Take-away: Curious, not critical: just notice the difference between your two sides.
